We are going to the south of France with its coves creeks and the most famous beaches in the French Riviera.
The French Riviera is a very pleasant region due to its mild climate all year round and its beautiful beaches scattered all along the coast.
We decided with Olympia Villa Rental to select the most beautiful beaches from 3 of our destinations located in the French Riviera. It will help you to know where to put your towel or organize a romantic picnic and forget the rest of the world. You will discover 3 beaches of your dream at the French Riviera. Let’s go!
Nissa La Bella!
Nice, the largest city in the French Riviera, is often the entry point for holiday makers. Arriving by its Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, which is France’s most beautiful sight during the landing, a promising start for this beautiful city that is not lacking of attractions to seduce throughout the years. From its Boulevard Jean Médecin to its main shopping area where Place Massena, in every season, is sweet to live and watch.
For those who like the calm, there is the beach of La Reserve, Port de Nice.
Close to the Albert I garden, it is an excellent alternative to the beaches with more tourists during the summer.
Almost exclusively frequented by locals, it consists of an expanse of pebbles and some coves in the rock.
Small important detail, it is not safe from the big waves. It is close to the port and could be an ideal place for the novice of thrills.
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat
Our favorite spot is the beach « Plage des Fossettes », in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, near Nice.
It is located at Pointe Saint-Hospice, on the peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
Abandoned by tourists who prefer the beach of Paloma, it is very quiet and allows you to relax to the sweet sounds of cicadas. A path under the water starts not far from there to make you discover the marvels of the marine world. A luxury to forget the rest of the world.
Authentic Saint-Tropez
It is a true legend and surely the most famous village of France: Saint-Trop’, for the intimate, two very different facets.
On the one hand, there is its very « jetset » side. It attracts all those want to see and be seen in the trendy bars and restaurants along the seaside. The Champagne flows there during social evenings. Of course the most luxurious yachts that the others line up in the port of Saint-Tropez which attracting all eyes.
On the other hand, have a drink of Pastis and watch locals play Pétanque on the famous « Place des Lices ». You can walk through the enclosed streets that have kept an authentic charm. Scented by the smell of flowers and the heat of the sun to remember a walking the heart of an eternal city!
Lerins Islands, Cannes
To keep this romance of the south, it will be necessary to go on the beach « Plage de la crique Portet », in the island of Cannes.
It is one of the least known of Sainte-Marguerite Island, the largest of the two Lérins Islands.
Located just after the forest house, it has a beautiful setting with flat rocks that surround it on both sides.
Our advice is to arrive early in the day to enjoy it because its charm is also its size, it is very small, but you will be in paradise!
Monaco, the principality
Definitely Monaco makes the renown of The French Riviera. This enclave of 2km2 has an authenticity and exceptional landscapes with its old city perched on its rock. Nestled in the cliff, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The Monaco Palace stone is the headquarters of the oceanographic institute. This museum has a splendid aquarium of 90 basins and a lagoon with sharks. The exotic garden with its cave and its huge cacti, in bloom in winter, is superb, a city that keeps on shining the eyes!
But there is a soothing and almost mysterious place called Fishermen’s Cove Beach.
It is a well kept secret…
Monaco is not famous for its beaches. However this place brings a little calm and serenity to the excitement of this city. There is a special way to reach it. You have to go down the stairs near the fishermen’s car park or go through the Rainier III dyke. Very narrow, this small gravel beach is frequented only by locals. It is up to you!
