The Melaya Villas is a small and attractive complex of three identical 3 bedroom private pool villas on 1 hectare of land on the beach in Melaya – Northwestern Bali. The beachfront villas are beautifully furnished with authentic locally designed and made furniture, a 5 by 15 meter swimming pool with a 2 by 2 meter children’s pool and a large 2000 m2 tropical garden, located directly on the quiet and beautiful sandy beach.
LAYOUT
The living room is an authentic, antique joglo (traditional semi-open Balinese living space) with an open kitchen, a large cozy living room overlooking the garden and a cozy separate dining area. The villas are equipped with solar panels on the roofs, so that their own electricity and heat is generated naturally through the heat of the tropical sun.
The villa has three bedrooms around the living room. All three bedrooms have views of the pool, the garden and the sea at different angles. Two bedrooms are equipped with a king-size bed, a built-in teak wardrobe, a study, air conditioning and a fan. The two bedrooms on the side (one of which has two twin beds) have a semi-open bathroom with outdoor shower, while the bedroom in the middle has its own internal bathroom. The middle bedroom is also wheelchair accessible via the patio from the living room.
The tropical garden is spacious and decorated in Balinese style, on the outside is a three-meter thick vegetation of tropical plants that also serves as a partition between the villas. A natural separation has been chosen to preserve as much of the original palm trees as possible, so that the garden retains its tropical appearance. Moreover, the view is kept as free as possible, so that you can see the ocean from anywhere in the garden.
The view of the pool, the garden and the sea is visible from almost all parts of the villa. If you walk onto the beach, you will see Banyuwangi on Java on one side and the mountains of Bali on the other. In very nice weather you can even see Mount Ijen on Java.
In the afternoon the locals usually go to the sea for fishing. Some people use fishing rods, some use a fishing net, some go on a small boat and some use a large tire as a raft. During a calm sea day you can swim to the right of the villa and find a small coral reef. However, if you want to experience more of the beautiful underwater world, the port to Menjangan Island is only about a 20-minute drive from the villa.
